How to Update the OS of Your Galaxy SL I9003 to Jelly Bean.

Pinterest

  1. Download the Codename 3.5.0 Android ROM firmware and the Google apps software zip files to your PC.
  2. Before you begin attempting the update, back up the data on your Galaxy SL I9003 to your computer. This is an essential step since updating the OS requires that you will have to wipe the whole system first.
  3. Connect your phone to your PC with the USB data cable.
  4. Copy the ROM firmware and the Google apps file into the SD card of your phone. Check to ensure that the files were not copied into sub-folders but into the root folder so that you can easily locate them as needed.
  5. Shut off your phone.
  6. Reboot while in recovery mode. You can do this by pressing the Power button and then pushing down the Volume Up & Home buttons simultaneously.
  7. While in the recovery mode, create an android backup. You can do this if you click “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition” from the recovery menu. Once you finish this, return to recovery mode by choosing the +++go back+++ option.
  8. Choose the “install zip from S/D card” option and then select the sub-option “choose zip from S/D card”.
  9. Choose the Jellybean Custom ROM file and then install it in the memory of your handset.
  10. Repeat steps eight and nine to install the Google apps software.
  11. Once you’ve successfully installed the two applications, choose the “+++go back+++” option again and then choose “reboot system now”.
